I stopped in for lunch before a client meeting. Since I had never been to Plano I used Yelp to guide me to Brix. I walked in and it was me, two guys sitting at the bar and Joe (no, seriously) the bartender/server. Uh-oh!! Did the locals know something I did not? We're the Yelp reviews false and all completed by family and friends? The music playing was 60's & 70's (Marvin, Otis, Smokey) and fantastic. What made it even better was the singing coming from behind the bar. Joe does not process to be an American Idol but this was free and thoroughly enjoyable entertainment. Oh, the meal. I ordered the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and the pieces were small and cubed, warm and delicious. The salad was not too sopped in dressing and it tasted great. Joe and I spent 10 minutes talking hockey. He's a die-hard Stars fan and I didnt hold that against him being a Wild fan. I can't state whether the service or food would be different if there were 10-30 people in here but I will be back next time I'm in Plano. PS - I would rate them a six if Joe could sing.

Walked in for a late lunch around 2:30 PM while dropping my car for repairs. I was the only customer and there was just one lady behind the bar. The service was prompt and courteous. I ordered for the Cheese Burger Slider and a Chicken Slider and Fries. Both the sliders were excellent however, I would have preferred a little less Bleu Cheese, but that is a personal preference. The restaurant is spacious and the Bar can accommodate a good amount of people. The menu offers enough choices while not being overwhelming.

Our waitress was very impressive. She seemed to have been the only waitress for the entire bar. I didn't get her name, she was a small, blonde gal. The food was really good and came out fast. We enjoyed sitting on the patio today.

Our first time here and thank you Joe. What a Phenomenal bartender. The brown bag nachos were delicious (salty) but delicious especially if you like green olives. I really like the buffalo chicken sliders. great atmosphere. Great music and a really good vibe . I think this is the first bar that I've been to in Dallas in a year and a half I've lived here in which the bartender introduced himself and shook my hand. Wow !!!!! blow me away I haven't had that kind of personal service since good ole Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Very impressed thanks Joe! Great first time experience!

We came here for our end of the year fantasy football party. Was a great time had by all. We ordered mimosas when we arrived. They are $3 and taste... Unpleasant. We were told it was probably the sparkling wine they use because they use great orange juice. That's cool... Not every mimosa can be a hit. We moved along to vodka drinks, and they were still very cheap. Definitely a good deal with the all day Happy Hour on Sundays. Our service was great. Both the waitress and the bartender were on their game. We sat at a table during the game and then moved to the bar area afterwards. I liked the bar area better than the restaurant area. Wasn't a fan of the location of the TVs if sitting at a table, but the bar was set up well for watching a game. Also, they play sound during the Cowboys games, so that's a plus. They also played sound during the night game as well. I had the cheeseburger when I was there. It was a pretty good burger... Plus you get a ton of fries. Probably could have shared. All the portions we all had with our orders were huge. Oh yeah, and the mozzarella sticks were pretty legit. Overall, great bar that I'd like to come back to soon.

A good friend and I stopped by here after deciding that we needed something more substantial that coffee (our original venue was nearby Fourteen Eighteen, check them out!). We ended up going more with an appetizers-as-a-meal concept, with the following: Homemade chips & blue cheese dressing - The best of a pretty strong group, these were excellent chips. Very crispy, nicely browned, and the dressing was positively addicting. A very good dish. Hot dog sliders - Featuring little Nathan's dogs, these were a nice snack, although the bun to meat ratio was a little high (but I guess that's the nature of sliders) Buffalo chicken sliders - These were very good as well, with a nice, tangy buffalo sauce and tender chicken and blue cheese sprinkles. Cactus chili - I didn't really note a lot of nopales or other cactus product in here, but the chili was nonetheless very good. I liked the corn and beans, purists may not be as fond of them. Overall, this place struck a good balance between a comfy bar and moderately upscale food. Definitely give them a try if you're in the area!

A friend texted me to ask if I'd tried Brix in downtown Plano yet. I hadn't. It looked like a standard neighborhood bar, so I wasn't super-interested in trying it out. A hamburger and pizza is a hamburger and pizza, right? Brix may serve alcohol and have video golf - all the signs of a neighborhood bar - but it also has amazing food. I first stopped in with a coworker for lunch. I told our server, Joe, that I had no idea what to order and I was suspicious of his claims regarding the food's tastiness. Boy, was I wrong about that. I had the lunch special with 1/2 chorizo meatloaf sandwich (with sprouts!), parmesan fries and a side salad. My coworker had the green chili chicken lasagne. Oh.My.Gosh. Everything was amazing. So I had to take the hubs there for dinner one evening. This time our server was Justin. He was also awesome. I ordered the tempura battered chicken tenders. Sooooooo good. The hubs stuck with his old-standby, a burger. I was really disappointed - he should have gone for something more unique. But he said it was one of the best burgers he's ever had: We finished dinner with a slice of cake (lagniappe courtesy of checking in on Yelp). We picked the carrot cake and learned from Justin that it's made by another one of our local downtown Plano businesses, Bake Rejoice. This photo doesn't do the cake justice. It was as wide as the palm of my hand. More than half of it went home in a take out box that we labeled "Box of Happiness." The owner, Sam, stopped by to see what we thought of everything. What a great guy. You should definitely say hi to him when you're there and tell him that his food is delicious. Because it is.
